Got out today from 12-5pm w/ Adam Postelle. WE had an awesome day on Carters. The lake is 1ft from being full pool w/ water temps finally down to 47, and fishing has been very strong as of late.... The weekend Dogfights out of the DAM have been taking 15-20lbs of spots every tournament to win.

We boated 10 spots today, with 2 big spots a 4.7 and 5.6..... We took the easy way out as we caught most of our fish on live shad using 6 and 8 pound line over brush piles, lots of fun.... All fish were suspended over the brush in 20-45ft of water. We did catch a few good spots on drop-shot and a jig=head finnesse worm also but the livebait was on fire today, hard to put down.

The above pics are of the big spot of the day and a double we hooked into earlier.....

Good Fishing

Those are great looking spots. What is the lake record there? What time of the year is best for someone that doesn't know the lake to visit and catch a few of these fish. I know it's a deep and clear lake, which is tough fishing.

The lake record spot is 7.3, largemouth I believe is over 14.......

If you want to come to Carters and don't know a lot about it I would suggest coming in Early April, it's always been my best numbers month along w/ May.....

Awsome fish LB, thats the biggest spot I've seenemoEek. I bet he fought like a sherman tank. I've boated some three pound spots and that was a heck of a fight. Couldn't imagine hooking up with a football like that! good times!

Those are GREAT looking fish. Triton .. when you say we hooked into a double does that mean you caught both of those fish at the same time on one getup?

I'm thinking THAT would be pretty amazing.

No we both hooked into a fish at the same time but on two different rods...... I hooked mine first and then as I was fighting my fish AP hooked into his....

During topwater season I've seen 2 fish caught on 1 bait at Lanier but I've not done it yet, maybe this year?

Great fish... do you ever hear about anybody fishing the float-n-fly method down there for spots the way they fish for smallmouth on Dale Hollow? I'm heading to Dale Hollow next week... just wondering if maybe I don't need to go that far? Of course I obviously don't if I want to chase trophy spots!

I haven't heard of anybody using the float n fly method here, I'm sure it would work.... I've only seen it done on TV once or twice and it was on Dale Hollow it seemed like a very good way to catch fish I'd like to give it a try.
