I have fished Carters Lake A thousand times and can never catch a fish. I have thrown a lot of plastic, spinnerbaits and crankbaits. Can you give some advice to help catch small bass just to catch them.

I can tell you that carters can be tough as you know,I fish it 2 or 3 times a week. My best bait is finess worms in green pumpkin or watermelon. You can catch them on spinnerbaits and cranks If you can find them. I do better fishing real slow too. I have caught good fish and i have been skunked MORE THAN ONCE. AS the other post said Triton LB might could help you more. The fish in my pic came from carters and i have caught 2 spots over 6 and a couple lg mouths around 5 lbs . Good luck

I appreciate the help. Im not looking to get in tournments. I just cant afford to pull a boat to chic. anymore. I just want to catch fish even if they are small. It doesn't bother me I catch and release anyway.

throw a small jig or a t-rigged finesse worm... just beat the banks, thats all I know to do! good luck

I tried some of your advice, I think I threw eberything that I had. Carters just doesn't like me....

Carters + points + 1/2 or larger brown hair jig /real pork trailer + 4lb test line + 30ft deep= BASS
Carters + rock hump 20 feet or deeper + drop shot + black zonker size 2-6 + 4lb line = BASS

Dont knock it till ya try it ( ZONKERS are streamer flies cant get at Sportsmans warehouse and any fly fishing shop or online ) of course must find bait fish on LCR to be most effective

zonkers vary in style .. get ones with long rabbit fur tails .. something bass have never seen .. extra tip ( get Berkley Alive spray on it )

I would try a tube with an exsposed hoked worked slow almost dragged. When your line pops give it the ole"Bill Dance" Yank.

Beautiful lures don't catch fish they catch fishermen, some of the best days I've had came off a bone crank bait all scratched up no eyes, but fished didnt mind one bit emoLaugh
