Has anybody fished Carters recently? Was thinking about heading there this weekend, and any report on how the fishing has been or what the fish have been relating to would be great.

Thanks

I cant stand fishing 35' or deeper so I pass on that place. Friday 3 fish tourney has won with at least 8 lbs-10lbs all month though.

I work with folks that fish it often. there are good fish to be had. they hear anyways lol. Good luck if you try it though, it is a beautiful lake

Thanks for the input. Its always been tough to fish, but have seen pics and videos of some nice spots. Was just wanting to change it up been going to Weiss lately.

I live about 20 min from carters but choose to drive an hour to the chick instead lol. Im a power fisherman though so I enjoy chick better. I like fishing grass too. Im not a fan of 35-40' clear lakes having to use 1/4oz ned rigs on 8lb line.

Yeah you can. I have more luck there finesse fishing though. I like cranking..I cant crank a 10xd long and unless you are at carters you aren't getting down to the big schools. When you can go to chick and catch 10-15 easy why would you go to carters and struggle to catch 1? Im not trying to be a pro so I don't feel like I need to improve my species tactics or skill I just want to go catch as many as I can and have fun so largies at chick is the best place imo.

Im like everyone else its too deep and I live fairly close to their myself and would rather drive to the chuck our even the big G have much more fun than that place.I fished the Sk tournaments tail last year and we started out at that place and all we caught was spots not many Large mouth in that lake that I can tell and after dark it all stops nothing will bite hardest lake around to fish cause it's so deep.

Yea it is tough, but I like catching those Spots. They always put up a good fight even the small ones. We ended up going Sunday, and 3 small Spots, on LM, and one catfish all on Ned rigs and shaky heads. Fished from about 7-11:30 the wind got up and we called it a day.

I fished Carters for years its a great lake but you have to put a lot of time in but theres nothing like catching and fighting those 5 to 7 pound spots
