Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency biologists are proposing several important changes in fishing regulations. Proposals generating the most discussion are suggestions regarding trout creel and size limits on the Caney Fork River and proposed "slot limits" on bass in a couple of lakes.

Chattanoogan.com Outdoors is providing four different web polls for sportsmen to share their opinions.

Hey rsimms,

Do you know if the TWRA biologists have posted online the reasons why they are proposed the current set of of changes?

I will respect any evidence based decision to improve a fishery. But fisheries sometime will not respond at all to regulation, leaving the increased restrictions as just a burden on those that fish that fishery. There is a lot more going on than what the 4 surveys cover. Alot of that which is not in the survey has struck me as worrysome.

Thanks,
Scott

I for one support all of the proposed changes to the regulations regarding the Caney Fork River. That is a jewel that we need to take care of and these proposals show me TWRA is paying attention! I caught my first fish there and I cant wait to take my daughter up and share the excitment of a trophy brown trout with her. These increased length limits will only help make that happen!

No, the releases they send out simply advise proposals... not reasoning (although I agree that they should).
