I worked on the boat Saturday afternoon and Sunday afternoon the sunshine was just too much. I put in at RP around 12pm and fished until 4:30. Current was pretty good today. Since I was by myself I did not want to go up to the dam with the current pulling so hard but I ran up above CB Robinson bridge and tried a spinner bait against the bank. I had one nudge - water temp was 60.8 and air temp was still in the 50s. There were some brown cats (i think) rolling behind a log near the bridge. I threw some lures at them but could not get a hookup. They were active. Ran downtown and tried some of the bridges with a jig but nothing there (Does everyone observe the no wake zone there - is it really for bass boats??) Then I went down to a bank above the bend and threw my SB but nothing so I ran to the bend and started catching small spots. Not much size but some fun. Went downriver and tried some more banks without any luck - played with the HDS unit and got it dialed in pretty good. It was fun seeing all the stuff on the bottom of the river. Never marked many fish though. Overall not a DHaun striper day or a Mr Whiskers double up day but still a lot of fun being on the water. The water was 68 later in the day near Williams Island and most of the banks the water was muddy from all the cruizers. The River Destroyer almost got me too - I dont know what he was doing but he did a big half circle at full speed right in front of me as I was coming upriver after calling it a day. The first wave was at least 5 feet high. My butt is still hurting!
