I will let Labman post the pictures. We met at the ramp at 6:30 and ran to the base of the dam. Some fish were busting small bait and we went to work. I hooked up a nice little white bass and soon after Labman hooks one too. It was slow but action continued. I heard a pretty good slurp and turned around and Labman had what I thought was a big white bass. He hollars for the net and thinks maybe it is something else. Turns out to be a nice striper. A few more bites and the action seemed to die so we drifted downstream to see if we could get into some schools below the rr bridge. Only one good school turned into some bites and fish and then it seemed to totally turn off a little after 8. Could have used the clouds today but sun poked through and that seemed to be the end of the white bass bite. Fish until 12 and decided it was too hot and the fish didnt want to play. I got a bass to rise on a TW and Labman lost one on a jig. Then he jinxed me when I went to one of the spots I always catch bass on by saying we would catch catfish emoPoke Well he was right emoGeezer First he caught a couple on a dropshot and then one slammed my jig so hard I was certain I finally had a smallie but unfortunately it had whiskers! emoLaugh Anyhoo that about did it. Had fun and if Labman goes with you on your boat just make sure you have a lot of room for all his stuff emoPoke Enjoyed fishing with you Labman and nice striper. We have to go again you know to get the curse of the catfish off my jig! emoLaugh

Thanks Bill for the ride. I was traveling light with ONLY 2 tackle bags and 5 rods. You gotta have your tools. Had fun using the popping cork and fly for whites and a striper. Seems quite effective. First time I have reeled with my right hand in about 40 years. I do appreciate you setting up a rod for me though.

I just figured since your boat is a "Bass Cat" that you wouldn't mind getting some slime on it. Really like the boat though, very well laid out with a good ride. I had to put the gulp minnow away as the cats were eating it up and they soon become a pain. Had a good time even if the bass were a little uncooperative. We will get em next time. I tried to get a pic of Bill with the cat he caught on a jig, but nothing doing.

Regards, Labman

Although I've never tried it,
I've wondered about the effectiveness of those popping corks.
I have seen them used on TV to catch sea trout on shallow flats.
Must work pretty good.

Good looking striper labman emoThumbsup, it was good to see yall yesterday it was a tough bite for me. emoToast </p>

Nice report. guys! I was out also and Labman and I chatted on the phone. All I caught was a 2 lb. LM on a plastic worm and a few yellow bass and a small cat. Didn't fish the area just below the dam. I did have a good fish break off with a crankbait due to a weak spot in my line.
