Thought I would share a catch and release story. A friend and I were fishing last year on Dale hollow, it was about two in the mourning with no moon and the bites were coming pretty slow. My friend finally hooks a fish and by the splash I knew it was a big one. He had wanted a big Smallmouth to mount which is against my boat rules. In the past I had already sneaked a couple of 5 plus back in the water that he had caught. I knew this one would take some convincing. I got my scales out after a pic and told him it weighed only 3.2. With disbelieve on his face I eased her back in the water. I didn’t lie to him but didn’t mention that my scales weighed kilo-grams as well as lbs. ( do the math). We joke about it now as he has since released one a little over six caught while we were fishing on the river. These memories of these fish to me are a sight better than a fish hanging on the wall. My hat is off to this forum for advocating catch and release.
