My baby girl has been a little irritated that we haven't gotten into the tree-stand yet this season, so we got up last night for an hour, only to watch the nice sunset. We did hear a deer blow at us, but it never came out of the thick stuff, could have been blowing at anything really though.

We walked out the back door this AM about shooting light so I could check the field before we walked through it. I didn't see anything, but as we entered the field, 4 deer ran out, they were up tight to the house, and blocked by a big hedge-row I have. Oh well, better to at least try right? Into the stand, and for an hour, all we saw was a couple cows in the woods behind us. I asked if she was ready to get down, and she said, nah, not yet. I was wondering how much longer she would want to stay when I caught movement across the field. It was a big doe, and she was coming towards us. Storm had a tough time finding it, but when it turned broadside at 75 yards, I heard the safety come off, and she plowed it right through the heart. It was running low, and gushing blood like a fire-hose. It went about 20 yards in a circle and piled up dead. emoWorthy

Gotta love it, warm venison tenderloin and eggs for breakfast.emoBigsmile

One down, several more to go this season. We are really looking forward to going to Alabama in January. She passed a big 6 point last year on this place I have waiting on a bruiser, and is itching to see a monster in the scope.
