I've not been out much this year, and the kids have wanted to go so we went twice recently and blanked both times. We tried cutbait (shiners) and bluegills fished on rocky channel edges 20 to 50 ft deep while the turbines were running. In the past this has always worked. Am I missing something, or is it just bad luck? Thanks

If I were you, I would take those kids and drift cut bait and chicken breast above and below the railroad bridge. If that don't work and it usually does, go hit the deeper holes with cut bait and chicken. That skipjack is money this time of year. And after you guys get done smashing them post a report!

On my recent guide trips the cats would not TOUCH cut bluegill.... while we caught them good on chicken breast. I can't explain it, I just know it's true.

Try a big spinnerbait at night!!! Those blue cats will hammer that thing and usually when you're almost asleep it seems. I've had some during our bass tournaments almost scare me to death when they hit lol.

I started to say that yesterday Charlie! We have been catching Channels and Flat Heads on spinner baits almost every night about 8 - 18 lbs. maybe hand a chicken liver on the back as a trailer!

Thanks to all for the advice. Sounds like I'd catch more catfish if I started bass fishing instead!
