Hehehe, your right, but it sure is fun from time to time. </p>
About once a year I have an old college buddy come into town and we set out jugs and fill his freezer with eaters. It's usually one of the few ways we can get the ladies to go and on occasion will take a few kids too. Young'uns have a ball with it.</p>
We usually put them out on the flats about a mile below G-ville dam. We'll most always catch some channels that way.</p>

I can honestly say, I love to cat fish but I have never been jugging or trot lining... im depressed now. That is a sweet design.. thanks for posting the sketch.

Some fellahs had about 25 of the jugs out below the Nick last week. They put them out about 100 feet from the spillways which is against the law. They have to be at least 1/4 mile from the dam. I don't think the water patrol saw them, I guess they did it out of ignorance, probably couldn't find a rule book to go by. This was in broad daylight.

Jugging is not just for eaters. With the right bait and presentation some serious trophies can be caught. Talk about fun, haul a 30 or 40 pound blue in on a jug and see if you can hang on to it without some heavy gloves. I learned this one the hard way on my first jug trip. The guys in the boat were veterans and got a real hoot watching me get my hands tore up.
