It was my great joy and honor to meet and fish with Cheez today for a few hours of catfishing. He needed a few fish for a church fish fry and we managed to catch 8 that weighed about 55-60 lbs. We weighed 3 over 10.5 pounds and another about that big that we didn't weigh. We estimated the other 4 to be around 5 pounds each. We threw back several under 3 lbs.

Cheez believes in leaving the lake a little cleaner than he found it. Check out the pics if I can get them downsized properly.emoGeezer

We caught our fish near the dam on the lake side fishing channel edges. Fish were caught on shrimp and Muskrat's hotdog formula. They bit shrimp better today than the hotdogs. Most fish came out of 38-42 feet of water.

I must be stupid or something but I am having a terrible time identifying the fish in the 1st picture.... DK have I been away from fishing too long???emoScratch however, you all did good gathering up fish for the supper.... looks as if you all had great time... yeahemoThumbsup emoThumbsup

Sounds like a good day. I hope that the fish are starting to turn back on as they have been very slow the past month or so and with reports like yours I have hope. Tomorrow we are going to Racoon to try some cats down river.

You are not stupid or something Fat Albert! Can't you recognize a trot line fish? I was standing with my dip net at the ready as Cheez fought this giant trot line and I couldn't get it in the net, so Cheez just hauled it over the side all by himself.emoBigsmile emoBigsmile Left the lake a cleaner place to play. emoGeezer

That trotline fish was gonna be big fish of the day.(At least that's what I thought when I asked my new friend to get the net) It was a great day of fishing and I thoroughly enjoyed myself with Mr. Drumking. We actually had 9 fish and they weighed an even 66 pounds. I guess we miscounted standing in the hot sun at the Wolftever ramp.
If any of you ever get the chance to fish with Drumking, don't pass it up. The man is a gentleman, a true Christian and a tremendous fisherman. I learned a lot from him today and look forward to our next outing.

Cheez
