Catoosa is a very large WMA where you can sure get turned around in those ridges. If you do not have one, you should get yourself a good hand held GPS. I don't leave home without mine. I also suggest that you get Topo maps down loaded into your GPS. When in new areas, I can actually find ridges.saddles,creek bottoms and etcwhere I know deer will travel. Many times I have been able to walk in in the dark and set up on a good and productive area thanks to topo maps. Before GPS I always pre scouted areas with TVA paper topo maps.
