Catoosa Bi-color?

Anyone ever hunt his draw hunt next week? I got a tag but no idea where to go. Got a map but no clue.. Any one else going and need a not-a-rookie partner to tag along?

Doesn't matter which side you get drawn for you can hunt either. I've gotten drawn for the Nov. Gun hunt for many years in a row and for the past few years the biggest bucks have come from the Peavine Rd. area. The best advice I can give you is to scout extensively and dont be scared to use your hiking boots to get away from the roads. The most successful hunters use the other hunters to push deer their way. Good luck, there are some studs up there and its beautiful!

Exactly what he said. Especially the part of using other hunters in your favor. I love crowded WMA for that very reason.</p>

Catoosa is a very large WMA where you can sure get turned around in those ridges. If you do not have one, you should get yourself a good hand held GPS. I don't leave home without mine. I also suggest that you get Topo maps down loaded into your GPS. When in new areas, I can actually find ridges.saddles,creek bottoms and etcwhere I know deer will travel. Many times I have been able to walk in in the dark and set up on a good and productive area thanks to topo maps. Before GPS I always pre scouted areas with TVA paper topo maps. Good luck to you on your hunt and remember the quality buck regs in place up there.</p>

Good advice y'all thanks. I drove around on Fri but found the bridge is out in the middle. Drove to Genesis first, then drove all the way around the place, yes it is BIG. Found the bi-color area and drove quite a bit to learn some roads. I went and bought a garmin today to make myself feel better. It's supposed to snow on thursday, I'll post up after i get back.
