Hey has anyone on here ever hunted catoosa/bi-color? i have this hunt this weekend and have never hunted it. any help would be greatly appreciated!!! emoScratch emoToast emoThanks

We hunted it 3 years ago and most everyone got a doe but it was a tough hunt and not many deer were seen.
I did see one or two nice shooter 8 pt'ers but could not shoot due to the 5 on one side rule at the time. Don't know what the regulations are this year.
We camped at the camp ground near the lake and three of us hunted that area at camp. We went stright up that hollow and found a lot of sign. Dad did see the biggest Buck he said he ever has seen there but could not get a shot. You have to be careful that property runs into the Nachez Trace Area which is off limits and it boarders several local farms. If you have time, you may want to scout that area. Good Luck and let us know how you do.

I believe you are legal to hunt either unit if you got any tag for Catoosa....I havent done much up there but liked the bucks I saw off Peavine Rd. close to the campground in the Genesis unit...

Im not sure, i'll have to check into that....but my permit i got in the mail specifically says catoosa-bicolor so i dont know.

You can hunt either side genisis or bi-color. Bicolor is alot more mountainous and steep and genisis is more rolling with more food plots, in turn the genisis side is usually a lot more crowded. I got drawn for the same hunt but have to work through friday, so I wont be there. My advice is get ready to walk. Get a good map from the warden station, find an area and just try to learn it. There are big bucks all over the WMA. I would check the Peavine area and Daddys Creek....please let us know how it goes.

i have to work through friday too so i will only be going saturday my dad will be going all three days though. will let you guys know how it goes.
