Cats at the Nuke Plant 9/9/2006

Cheeze said that I would need an anchoring permit to get a spot out by the nuke plant. Boy was he right. I got out there about 9:30am when the fog lifted ,with my 8 yr old son, and we were one of about 20 boats. But there seemed to be plenty of cats to go around. Everyone was catching em... Our biggets was 12.5# but man did we have fun. I am going back tomorrow night. I hope they are still hungry... Caught them on hotdogs, livers and gizzards.emoTongue

I was in one of those 20 boats. We had a great day also. Took a guy I work with and his son, and my 11 year old daughter. We had a blast. Ended up catching 15 fish with 10 of them over 10lbs. Largest one was 16.5 lbs. i was in the blue Glassmaster with walk through winshield all the way over by the farthest red bouy just north of the bluff. We caught most of them right on the drop into the channel on hot dogs. I think I saw Liveliner out there today. Doesnt he have a white center console boat?? I started to go over and say Hi but Im new on here and I really dont know anyone yet. I hope to get to know some of you guys on here so I can say HI when Im out there. We were drifting. Looked like most everyone else was anchored. Anyway we had a wonderful time and let the biggest go back to fight again someday.

That was Liveliner you saw. He took me fishing today! We had a great time. When I get more time, I will post a report with a few pics later. I caught my first chattanooga cats today! I also couldn't believe the crowd, that many people fishing for catfish? wow, it was something.

Did you see how my fishing partner was catching ALL the fish. He had several doubles on today with a rod in each hand. I got a kick out of that. He beat my socks off today.

Were you wearing an orange shirt?? I saw you guys catching some fish over there. Looked like you were using Skipjack. How many did ya end up with?

I think Shsimons had on a red shirt and mine was off-white. Sam lost count on how many he caught. So did I but mine was a little # and his was a big #.

I was out there for a few minutes yesterday in the mid to late afternoon. My wife and I were on a drive up the river in my Statos fish and ski. I really wanted to stop and say hi to everybody but we were just cruising and I didn't want to get close enough to spook anyone's fish. There were so many boats out there, I could hardly believe it. DK and I tried up there for a short while Tues but there were so many boats out there that we had to find a secondary spot as all the best spots seemed to be taken. I'm glad that the fishing was good. If any of you guys see a blue stratos fish and ski when you are out on the lake, give me a yell! I don't have a sticker on my boat, I need to get a couple more.
