Took my wife out Friday night by moonlight to find some CAT'S. We went out at about 7:30 pm and fished around the dam on the lake side. We fished until 11:00 pm and caught 9 catfish with the biggest one being 35 lbs. on skipjack.emoBigsmile
The fishing was best around 10:00 pm but i'll tell you, we couldn't have had a better night. TVA was pulling a little water and the weather was perfect and the moonlight was breathtaking.emoHeart It just doesn't get any better than thatemoThumbsup

I've never done much moonlight cattin'... I know the bite often shuts down at sunset, but have been told by others it'll pick back up toward midnight. Sounds like that might have been the case. 35#!!! You're making me feel more snakebit all the time! :( Congrats!

My wife got on me a little the other night and said that I've spent $ 200.00 on gas in the past two week going to Sequoyah catfishing. Thought I'd fish close to the marina this weekend and see if I could find some fish. We had a good time and the fish was there too.
But I still like Sequoyah for big fish.

You catch skipjack in the lake or in the river just below the dams. I see more and catch more this time of year below the dam and later in the year in the sloughs of Booker T. Washington Park. Small jigs or anything little and white or silver will catch them in the flow below the dam.
