Its hard to believe the CBA season is upon us. We will be having a mandatory kick-off meeting at Sportsman's Warehouse at 3PM on Sunday February 22nd. This is where you will purchase your processing cards for the season. The cost for the processing cards is a one time fee of $60.00 per member, just like last year. $10.00 of that goes to BASS for your membership as part of the Team Championship which will be held on Lake Guntersville this winter. The winner of the Team Championship will fish in the 2016 Bassmasters Classic.

Rule Changes for the season:

The Alabama/ Tennessee Rig is Banned. Here is the wording of the rule.
Any umbrella-type rigging, harness, or other device designed to hold more than one lure at a time — with or without hooks — is not allowed. Such rigging, harness, or device cannot be added to a single lure as described above. Traditional twin arm spinnerbaits or buzzbaits are allowed. Trailer hooks and plastic trailers must be on the main hook of the bait; only spinner blades can be affixed to the arms. The head on the main stem may be hinged. On these spinnerbaits or buzzbaits, no more than two wires, with a maximum length of 6 inches, may extend off the main arm or body of the lure. The ‘head and hook’ portion of the lure must trail behind the blade or blades.

You must fish with your regular partner to obtain points. If you want to fish a tournament with another member or someone without a processing card you may do so but you must fish on a white card.

Other format changes:

Youth Division

The age for youth team will be changed from 16 years and younger to any kid still in high school or younger. If you are over the age of 17 you must show a valid student ID card for the current school year. The entry fee per tournament is $60.00
The end of the season prize for the highest finishing youth team will be the same at $500.00
Also, the highest finishing youth team not in the top 50 teams in points will receive a free entry fee in the Classic.

College Division

If one member of the team is currently fishing for a college team they can fish the CBA tournaments for an entry fee of $90.00.
At the end of the season the highest finishing college team will receive a trophy and $250.00 cash.

Senior Division

If one member of the team is 67 years or older then the tournament entry fee for each tournament will be $90.00.
At the end of the season the highest finishing senior team will receive a trophy and $250.00 cash.
The highest finishing senior team that finishes outside the top 50 boats will receive a free entry into the Classic.

For all divisions to be eligible to fish the classic you must fish at least 7 tournament months.

Team Championship: Last year the CBA sent 4 teams to compete in the Team Championship. We expect to send at least 3 teams this year and the tournament will be in our back yard on Lake Guntersville. This is a great opportunity as I know a lot of the local anglers here know Guntersville very well.

Everything else from last year will remain the same. I look forward to seeing everyone out at Sportsman's Warehouse on Sunday, February 22nd at 3PM EST.

We will be auctioning off boat number 1 again for the entire season.

Here is the target payout for the classic this year based on the same number of boats as last year. We will absolutely have more money to pay out this year than we did last year based on sponsorship money.

We will be providing food at the meeting and will have a number of things to giveaway such as rods and tackle.

So if one was to miss this meeting for some reason would there be any way to still sign up and be eligible to fish?

If you are from out of town or have a conflict like work then you can miss this and purchase your processing card when you sign up for the 1st tournament, but I do want as many people as possible at this meeting to ensure we get accurate and correct data for the processing card information because we must have accurate data for each entry to count towards Team Championship totals.

Just a reminder this Sunday the 22nd at Sportsman's Warehouse at 3PM will be our kick-off meeting. We will be giving away some Denali Rods and tackle. We will have the auction for boat number 1. We will also be doing the drawing for boat number's 2 and 3 for the February tournament at this meeting. See everyone there!

The meeting will be held in the back room at Sportsman's Warehouse on Sunday at 3PM. If you walk in the store and then walk down the main aisle towards the fishing section just walk all the way to the back wall and thats where the meeting room will be.
