First, I'd like to thank all of you who showed up for the tournament this weekend! Saturday we had more boats (95) than we have seen since the 80's, and the most since CBA has taken on a "team format". Whats more impressive than the record participation, was the fact that it was a great tournament! Many members of this community put a lot of time and effort in these events, and as an officer; I was so pleased to see everyone having a great time! We payed out a ton of money and lots of prizes. You guys should feel proud to be part of such an event. Congrats to all those who finished in the money!

I would like to compliment everyone on a super smooth blast off! I was the "lucky one" who got to blast every one off and the last to leave the park. Everyone did an absolutely awsome job of getting in line and getting blasted off in a safe manner. We try really hard to get you guys out on time and with 95 boats, I'd say we did it as quick and smooth as has ever been done!

If you have never fished a CBA, I invite you to come participate in the best tournament trail this area has to offer. We allow 2 drops, so there is plenty of time to get in on the points race! please visit www.cbatournament.com for more info! See you all in April!

well i have to say..... i said i would never fish a CBA(just not my thing and expensive).... my boss Paul Johnson invited me to fish it with him... so i said why not..... it was my first CBA and i had fun.... yep i said it I HAD FUN....

I dont agree with some of the CBA officers views on things such as other TX's......But this i have to admit is the best ran trail in the area and i would say one of the best if not the best in the southeast.....

We ended up with 11.18 i think with just four fish and i had a nice fish i caught that was 5 lbs and alittle change....

Also had a 3.5 and one other smaller one for my keepers...... We mad it back to weigh in with 20 secs to spare from fished LITERALLY every second we could to try to get that 5th keeper... if only we had that last keeper we might have been paid to fish....

I dont know that ill fish any more on my own will... but if asked to be a partner i probably would take em up on it...

It was fun and Hats off to the CBA for a well ran tournament.....

Thanks for the positive feed back Jonanthan! I wished you would have introduced yourself to me. We all get busy, especially during the weigh-in, and I dont get a chance to say hi to everyone. Sounds like you and Paul were in the hunt, one more good one would have paid ya. Thanks for coming out.

Now that I have my boat motor rebuilt and broken in a little I am interested in getting my 17 year old son involved in the next event as my partner.

Can you sort of explain how that works for the youth points and entry fee?(or point me to where it has already been explained).

popeye, all you need to do is go to one of our sign-up locations. You will sign up on a youth division card (its red) entry is $60 per event. You will also have to buy a $30 process card for both of you. You only have to buy the process card once. You compete against the other youth teams for a free entry for each event, and points for the season. Youth teams are composed of a youth defined as a child who has not reached their 17th birthday at the time they buy their process card, and an adult partner. The highest finishing youth (in points) at the end of the season will receive a very nice prize to aid in gaining a college education (hint hint). Any additional question can be answered at: www.cbatournament.com

While were on the subject, a big congrats to Colby Truelove and Jim McClanahan for being the highest finishing youth in the March event. They earned a free entry into next month's event!

95 boats man what a crowd Im sure you guys worked your butts off! Look forward to fishing a few of these someday when money and boat get in order..

How many total youth teams did you have?
Pete all the info is on their website under tournament format if your son is 17 he doesnt qualify looks to be for 16 and under

I don't see why everyone complains about the CBA. I fished a few of them about 4 years ago and had a blast. Good to hear things are picking up. How many places did you pay and what did it take to get a check?

There a great run tx I here steve kite getting bashed all of the time but I have to say he does a great job with that tx

Let me rephrase that they all do a great job and we will be back in april and I can't wait for that one nickajack here I come

Hey, if you beat these guys you can say you done something. Really good fisherman down there and I hope to get to fish a couple of them this year.

We payed 21 places in money and 50+ places in prizes. 16.25# would get you a check. Most everyone that came back to the weigh in went home with a check or prize.

One of the admins requested I post a full list of the results. Additional info can be found at www.cbatournament.com

The next CBA will be the Nichols Marine April Open April 17, 2010. We would like to invite all area anglers to participate with us on the 17th. We would like to also thank all of our sponsors that make our tournament format possible. Please support our sponsors whenever possible.

I have to agree, with 95 boats the blast of was very smooth.......the only problem was the guy sending us off this time was total clown and he was giving me some funny looks, maybe he liked my shirt or hat, who knows. emoPoke
