James and James Win September CBA Event

This month’s CBA event was held September 11, 2010 at Chester Frost Park. The Chattanooga Bass Association would like to thank H & J Heating and Air for sponsoring this month’s event as well as supporting the CBA for many years. We had 54 teams that fished this month’s tournament and were able to pay cash and prizes through 44 places.
The team of Chuck James and Brad James had the winning bag of fish weighing 17.57# to take the win and the first place check for $2,000.00. The win qualifies them for the 2010 Sportsman’s Warehouse Classic Championship if they fish at least 7 of the open tournament months. The following teams rounded out the remainder of the places in the money:

2nd – Teddy Owensby and Randy Pippin - 16.47# - $750
3rd – Allen Lewis and Jeff Reed - 15.46# - $600
4th – Brandon Roop and Brent Tharpe - 14.96# - $500
5th – Ron Bohlman and Ray Bohlman - 14.81# - $400
6th – Ryan Rigsby and Drew Eldridge - 14.22# - $300
7th – Jeff Todd and Roy Tankersly - 14.18# - $300
8th – Chris Coleman and Chris Grizzle - 14.15# - $200
9th – Steve Kite and Daniel Lewis - 14.00# - $200
10th – Justin Medley and James Burkhart - 13.88# - $150

Jim McCalahan and Colby Trulove were the highest finishing Youth Division team and Brent Tharpe and Brandon Roop were the highest finishing New Team. Both of these teams will receive a free entry fee into next month’s tournament for their finish in the September Day tournament.

Tedyy Owensby and Randy Pippin had the big fish of the tournament with a giant Largemouth weighing 6.89 pounds, good for $300.
Mark Varady had the big spot of the tournament at 1.81 pounds, good for $100.
Lance Nunley and Thomas Wilson had the big smallmouth of the tournament at 3.12 pounds, good for $100.

The next CBA will be the Northgate RV Center Open on October 9, 2010. We would like to invite all area anglers to participate with us on the 9th. We would like to also thank all of our sponsors that make our tournament format possible. Please support our sponsors whenever possible.

We are also pleased to announce that TowBoatU.S. Chickamauga Lake will be awarding a $1,000.00 cash bonus to the HIGHEST PLACING BoatU.S. member with unlimited towing ($58.00 membership) at the Chattanooga Bass Association Classic to be held on November 13-14 on the Chickamauga Lake.

Congrats to all that got a check. emoWorthy

I know that Lance would have loved to have a 4.24 smallmouth however it was only about 3.18 lbs I believe. Someone made a boo boo. He was the only one with a smallie over three lbs. emoBigsmile

As always me and Colby had a great time and thanks to all the officers of the CBA that make it possible for the rest of us to fish it. emoThanks Jmax
