<img align=right src=http://www.sceniccityfishing.com/forumpics/cooking.jpg width=400 border=3>Thursday afternoon was the day we wrapped up the Chattanooga Christian School "Fishing Interim" program with a fish fry for the kids.

Following the March 4th fishing trip, with eight volunteer guides, the kids accumulated more than 4 gallons of fish filets (ALL fileted by CCS Teacher/Organizer Matt Monahan. Drumking supplied the fryer and all the necessary frying accouterments. I provided the moral support (and a very cool apron).

At first I thought I'd be headed home with fried fish. But in short order HORDES of kids converged on the scene like bees to honey. Drumking couldn't fry fast enough. Every scrap was consumed and we probably could have used another gallon or two.

The kids also showed off their "gyotaku" fish prints that was part of their Interim course. Gyotaku is an ancient artform where you "ink" your fish and create an actual print. Matt Monahan is an expert and he provided a print for each of the volunteer guides... a darn good payoff IMHO.

This was the 3rd year Matt has organized this special class at CCS, but the first time I'd been able to participate. It was very rewarding on many levels. I know all the volunteers feel the same way (Dickey Porter, Mark Pollard, Brian Howard, Chris James, Jerry Goodner, Jim Manis and Ben Hayes).

Here's a fun video I shot with my kids the day we fished: https://youtu.be/f1rD0_f_QH8

I already have next year's dates blocked out on my calendar. That means life is good and gettin' better every day.

We really had a great time again with the kids and all the visitors that came by to sample the fish. I want to thank you for all the help, Richard and Matt. I think that it was a successful fish fry. emoBigsmile emoGeezer
