Thanks to everyone who did a great job this year organizing these tx. DD22fish and I had a great day, probably one of my best days on the water, not necessarily poundage wise but definately numbers. After getting stopped by the coast guard this morning telling us the river was gonna be shut down between 8 and 5 knowing it was already 8, neither of us were sure of how the day would turn out, and were we ever surprised. The fish were very hungry and aggresive today for us as we caught numerous fish and were lucky to get some quality fish to go along with the numbers. We caught fish up river on CB's, SB's, and jigs in 8 to 15 ft of water. I don't think color mattered or size by any means and I told Gary, I think you could throw a white turd out there today and they would hit it. We even got to a point today where if we didn't catch a fish after 3 casts, there was a problem, it was just our day and capitalized on most bites. Thanks again to all and to pointer for helping out after the big smallie drew quiet a bit of blood out of my hand and finning me in a vein on the top part of my hand which is still very sore and swollen a bit......

Aside from that good news, Billy and I had a sucky day...4 keepers and a handful of throwbacks. I did thoroughly enjoy the 2009 CFF trail and am looking forward to next year.

Congrats to Kathy and Gary on an excellent sack and another big emoThumbsup to Gary for AOY.

I only fished a couple of the CFF's this year and enjoyed both of them. Very well run and lots of fun. Thanks to all who put in their time and work to give us all a chance to meet, fish, and compete in a friendly environment (and buy Big Al's Monkey products). Great work !! emoThumbsup emoThumbsup

Well, Scott and I's plan worked for the most part. The part that didn't work out was not landing 3 good fish ! :( They were biting really good first thing in the morning and it slowed a bit as the day went on. We threw a lot of differant baits, but the frog was the only thing we caught fish on. Thanks for putting it on !

You have that awesome G Loomis flipping stick and you threw that idiot frog bait all day? You don't deserve that rod! Give it to me.

Did use that flipping rod, it didnt get a a single bite, so I went with what was working. Not all of us can be as great as you. I would never give you a rod, you would sell it after using it a month.

Congrats to the winners and all who made it out to fish. Hated to miss this one but things just did not work out. Thanks again to the TX directors for putting this trail on really enjoyed fishing the ones I could. Glad everyone had a safe day and put some fish in the boats. emoToast

Antman and I had a great time. We tried a lot of different mats and lures and were able to scrub up a tiny limit, I think we had 6 keepers and about 5 shorts, and many misses. But it was enough to beat the "legend", but not the powerhouse team of Bbass and Jason who sand bagged their way ahead of me! LOL! We had fun and I enjoyed getting see a few old friends.
