My brother Michael and I blasted off and went immediately to the small lake on the other side of the small bridge (between the interstate and green bridge). Apparently several other folks had similar plans as we weren't alone. We were chucking BB's and a spook with nothing. We fished all down one side (rip rap) til we came to some weeds and started seeing some fish really feeding. We didn't have a bite for the 1st 1/2 hour then we got a double. Mine kept and Michaels was a dink........and his only fish of the day. . I caught about 11 more in the next hour, all on a 1/2 oz Cutthroat SB that was white with a large silver willow and gold colorado blade. I also had a trailer hook on. All of the fish came from the weeds. I would start reeling as soon as the bait hit the water and wake it back to the boat. The hits were really strong too. I caught a total of 4 keepers, about 5 14 inchers and a few others. I did manage to lose a good fish that probably would have won it for us. Oh yeah, water depth was anywhere from 3-9 feet deep. Our action died around 9 so we went up to Mullens Cove.......dead, fished a few areas down river and I caught a little mean spot. That was it, nothing else, heck we could have ended the Tx at 8:30. We both had a great time and I got to meet a few new folks. I also got to turn green with envy as I passed Mr. Whiskers house on the way to the lake and noticed a big, shiny 20 foot Triton sitting out front. Very nice. Great job Cutthroat and really great job on the muffins.
