There have been a few items brought to my attention that I want to point out.

1. Please be at the ramp on time to pay your entry free and get in the water. The TX Committee is adamant on shutting down sign-ups 15 minutes before blast-off. If you do not arrive before that time, you will not be allowed to fish. The proverbial crap hit the fan at the last tournament and I was called out because I allowed several boats to go out after everyone else blasted off. THIS WILL NOTHAPPEN AGAIN. If you are not going to make it by blast-off, then do not call and beg for a free pass because it is not going to be granted. We will post an estimated blast-off time based on what we feel is going to be safe-light, but that time is not going to be guaranteed, as weather conditions, etc can adversely effect safe-light.

2. For anyone who thinks its cool to make one-word and EMO posts to pad your postings and fish with us, pull your head out of your rear end and realize we are not completely stupid. I did not attend and graduate from an Ivy-League school, but Idid learn to read and count where I did graduate.I will personally say this as honestly as I can...If you thinkby making one word posts and emo poststhat you are going to make any friends on this forum then you are wrong. I get PM's and emails from people all the time who notice these things. Then I follow up on them andverify what I am being told, which if true, only makes me question your integrity.By doing this is jeopardize your trust with the tournament committee. If we think you are going to skim the rules just to fish, then why would I think you would not do the same on the water? This trail is for fun. If you want something else, then go fish with TVBC or CBA. We havea term in our rules thatwas addedfor a reason..."active CFF member".

3. Reminder to keep those fish cozy and comfortable in the live well. It is going to start getting hot and keeping your fish alive and kicking should be a high priority. At the last tournament, my live well pump quit working. Luckily, my pro-air kept oxygen in the water and I manually added water all day to keep the fish swimming.

4. Finally, I want to give a kudos to those who fish most of the tournaments and bring the spirit of CFF with them in their fellowship. This trail is not about winning big money; if that is what you are after then you need to look elsewhere. It is about a group of anglers of various skills and experience with a common passion coming together to compete and fellowship on a grass roots level. My hat is off to those who actively participate and help make the CFF Trail the success it is.

Well said. Rules are rules and all should obey them and it'll make for a good time for all participants. I've not fished any of the cff tx beings I'm almost 2 hours away and an hour behind but I will soon for sure. One question, my partner is my girlfriend and she is not a member on this site. Could she fish with me or does she need to be a member here.

... well you know, it's really is a shame that it has to come down to a mandated, hard ass ruling like this. But, the Tx. Committee guys want to go fish too! Most of us are there at the launch for registration at least an hour before we expect to blast off. Sometimes an hour and a half and more. Patrick has the list of participants already printed out from the pre registration. That's why we have a cut off time on Thursday night, so we will have the paper work prepared. Otherwise on Saturday morning we would all be running around willie nellie trying to get real names and screen names matched up and make a haphazard list of people trying to fish. If you have a dozen boats or so it's not so much of a big deal. But when you get up to 25, 30 , 40 and 50 plus boats it gets to be a mess! After registration, the Tx. Committee Members are trying to put up the table, equipment, money and all the paperwork and go get in there boats and prepare to fish themselves. Then we have the late arrivals calling and showing up while this is all taking place and showing up minutes before we are trying to blast off. All they want to do is pay their money and dump their boat in the water, happy days and away we go! Now, I have been there too. I had wheel bearings go out during our classic a year ago. Sometimes things just happen? And we do understand that things happen and you may be late. But we are sorry, The entire group of Tx. fisherman and the Committee just can't be held up because you had a problem for whatever reason. If your late, we are sorry but you don't fish! We, the Tx. Committee members try to get there early to make things go smoother for you the participants, maybe some of you should too and help us out.

I think you all do a great job putting on the tx's we fish through out the year. That is why we have rules everyone should try and follow each one of them.
