Brrrrrrr!! It has been about 12 years since I last fished in the snow, but the wind wasn't blowing on that day as I recall. The wind did blow out of the North today. You would have thought that Santa and his elves were riding in on a wave of cold air. emoBigsmile It has been about 25 years or so since I last fished in a bass tournament and about 1/2 through the morning, my shoulders told me why I gave bass fishing up for an easier species. Now I know why I only fish 1/2 days.
On my second cast of the morning, I broke the tip off my jigging rod and that sort of set the tone for the day for Bent Rod and me. emoBang We stayed close to the blast off spot today and fished rip-rap, points, roadbeds, vertical structure and more rip-rap. Madbomber would have been proud of both of us, except we didn't catch any bass. We did catch my pets, and an old trotline that hadn't been tended to for several months it looked like, so we took care of that bugger with a sharp knife. But they told me that we couldn't weigh our "smallmouth drum" in so we let them go. emoBigsmile
I had hand warmers in my gloves, but the tips of my fingers felt like they were being abused after about 30 minutes. Later on, I thought they might be dead, but they warmed up on the way home.
Rick and I fished with jigs, worms, blade baits, tail spinners, and we dropped shot, Texas rigged, and did about everything but throw perch colored hand grenades, but the bass that Rick had located last week, apparently left town when they heard that snow was in the forecast for today. I had tons of fun and am going to fish the Riverpark tx in 3 weeks if the TVA isn't spilling water like crazy and Rick will still let me fish with him. I enjoyed the entire deal. emoBigsmile emoGeezer
