Here are the results from today for what they are worth.:( Very tough day for all.

1st and Big bass was Drdetroit and Jack Steele with 7.68lbs and Big bass was 3.21 lbs.(3 Fish)

2nd was Flip and catch1maybe with 5.94 lbs. (3 fish)

3rd was me and CCSM, Jason and Davo and largemouth2 and Gary W. in a three way tie with zero.

Last place was 2jigs and Bbass with a DQ. Yes, you heard me right they were disqualified for coming in late. they didn't have anything but they were still DQ'd.;) So that is worse than zero at last place.emoLaugh

Me and CCSM made a new listing of the forum,"The wall of shame". Not Fame but Shame. I have to go so I will tell on us later.

We started out where we had some luck last week & nata. We found a big school of bait & were working it when bam!!!! I set the hook & this was no small fish. He took me to the left. He took me to the right. He dove down deep & then came strait at the boat. About that time I told BBass if this is not a catfish it's a MACK DADDY.

. I don't think either of us took a breath the hole fight. About that time the line started swiming around in circles.

in my book.

It sounds like you guys had fun today, but I had obligations to fish with my partner in our T. Next time I'll fish with you guys. I just wish it would be closer to my fishing grounds, like Grasshopper. I dont even know where the boat ramp is in Harison Bay. Anyway, till next time. Good job guys, and it was a cold one.

Yup gotta agree with 2jigs, if you caught fish today you won! I didn't envy you guys with the weather this morning. Good job on some nice fish guys.

Me and CCSM I thought had a good plan.:( After looking at Madd Dog's post of his Tx it would appear we had the right plan but did not hold our mouth right. We went up to the Sales Creek/Grasshopper area and it was a heck-of-a cold ride to say the least. Got there and here comes another boat. Turns out to be Madd Dog, I had found one of his holes from what he tells me. I have three hits in the first 30 minutes with two in the boat and one lost. Both are just under the 15 inch mark.emoBang I was using worms. The sun pokes out and the fish for us turns off.emoAngry All that way and only two short fish made it in the boat. On the other hand Madd Dog catches three keepers and shows us how to do it.emoWorthy We fished all the way back stopping at several locations and nothing. We were rounding a point and I get a hit!!!! Moves but does not come in.emoScratch We go over there and it is a gill net.emoAngry I hate those things. I pull up on my jig and grab the net to get it off and I see a big bass hung in the net.emoEek You cannot keep bass from a gill net so I know the netters will just throw it over and it was dead. I looked her over and she was a good 6 lbs. I told CCSM,"Let's have some fun." I told him we would weigh it in and make everyone think we caught it until the pay out and then come clean.emoEvil It worked like a charm. We had everyone going and had all the gang gawking at it. The weight was 6.37 lbs I believe. Right up until the payout all thought it was our catch. When I called out big bass to Drdetroit and his partner they thought we had made a mistake. We came clean and told on ourselves, had a good laugh. That picture is one for the "Hall of Shame". By the way, where is it?emoScratch Jmax

I found it under,"The Legend Continues"!!! That is one fine looking bass.emoLaugh Jmax

A big thank you to TT for the fine breakfast before launch. We really appreciated it Karen.
We had 6 bites all day. 5 Bass and 1 pretty big Drum. Only 3 keepers, 1 on a Jerkbait in a shad pattern, 1 on a Silver Buddy and the larger 1 on a red colored Little N crankbait. Just like yesterday we couldnt get a bite on soft plastics or a jig. It was great getting to fish with my little bro. again, its been too long. Good to see the CFFers that I already know and also to meet a few new ones. It was very tough fishing for us but still had fun.

good job guys. I wished I could have been there( in a way). I was getting off from work about the time you'all where blasting off,and I'm back at work already. I glad that everyone had a good and came home safe. I'll get to hit the water sometime midweek. CONGRATS, everyone. emoThumbsup

Davo and I spent the first quarter drifting...his trolling motor froze up. His boat is cold-natured and didn't like the frigid temps any more than we did. Around 10 or so, we began our search for the elusive largemouth in Wolftever. From recent reports and Davo's last outing, we counted on a shallow bite
bang.gif
. After a sound spanking from the fish and with only an hour or so left, we headed out of Wolftever and into the bay, passing Flip and his partner on the way. Noticing the silver buddy Flip had tied on, we made a last ditch attempt at some deep fish. At Polo's smallie boulder, I hooked and lost what felt like a pretty good fish...hopefully it was just a stupid drum. That was pretty much it for us. Judging by the reports from today, we would have been better off to make a bone-chilling run upriver for largies or to jig steep main-lake points for spots. On the bright side, I had a good time fishing with Davo and got the chance to scout out some sweet-spots for the rising water in the spring.

I enjoyed meeting some of the boys and had a great time except for the weather. The first fish I caught was off a rocky point in about 8-10 feet of water. Use a Rapala jerk bait which I later lost. I caught two bass all day one was around 3.6lbs the other was a 1/4 inch short. We ahd one fish in the live well till 1300hrs. when my partner with a drop shot small fluke put two in the boat almost back to back. Then he caught two good size drum with the same technique. At first I thought we were really hot but drum do not count.

Dr Detroit:) :)

Drdetriot we were glad to have ya and it was nice to meet the two of you. Good job and congrats on a tough win. We still do not have a repeat winner. One thing I heard about a lot of the other Txs that folks did not like was the same ones win them over and over. With your win that is about the 12th Tx we have had and you two make the 12th different winners.emoAngel You cannot say the same folks win in ours becuase we have never had anyone win two yet. I keep hoping it will be me!;) Jmax

Finally got thawed out and getting to post about the event! Well, my wife said Jmax and I were crazy for fishing on such a cold, windy, day. So after getting up early, struggling to put on way more clothes than a person should ever wear, braving a bone chilling cold ride to Grasshopper first thing, and a almost as cold and rough ride back and on top of all that I did not catch even one fish of any kind I have to say my wife was right!!!!!!! The only things that saved the day were 1) The great hot biscuit and hot chocolate that TT served at the ramp ---- Many thanks TT. 2) Getting to enjoy the health that God has blessed me with and spend time outdoors with one of my fishing buddies, Jmax --- He is always good company! 3) I saw a bald eagle at grasshopper ---- They are awesome! 4) Seeing a bunch of my CCF friends and enjoying the always friendly competition 5) Being part of the scam with the fish Jmax pulled from the gill net!!!!! It was pretty funny and I nominate Jmax and myself for an Oscar for best performance at weigh in with an illegal fish. That is a category for an Oscar ----- right?

On a serious note ---- I'm glad we found the bass in the gill net and brought it in and I thank MB for posting a picture of it. It is a shame that a quality fish like this was wasted in a gill net. As Jmax has pointed out, the netters can't even keep them when they check their net --- they have to throw them away. What a waste. I hope this first entry into the CFF Hall of Shame will draw attention to the problem and I propose that we actually have a Hall of Shame for any pictures that we can take that draw attention to anything bad for our fishing resources, such as pollution, illegal activities associated with fishing or water usage, bad sportsmanship, etc. What does the membership think?

Spring will come and all will be right with the fishing universe!!!!!!

I will have to agree with you CCSM. Your performance was outstanding and yes, an oscar will be forth coming...LOL Just goes to show ya, we can have lots of fun and a good laugh is good for the soul... I thought it was funny as heck.... FA
