It was brought to my attention this last Friday night that our CFF scales were possibly weighing lite. This could have been the case. I believe that the scales possibly were not TARED to post a zero weight after the weigh in basket and lid were added. I'm not completely sure but that is what may have happened. That is the only explanation I can come up with otherwise. I now have checked the scales with two different weights. One was a four pound weight and the other was a five pound weight. The four pound weight was a new sack of sugar. The five pound weight was a five pound dumbbell. The bag of sugar weighed 4 lbs. 2oz. The five pound dumbbell weighed 5 lbs. 1oz. So the scales are accurate. All of the weights Friday night were recorded the same way. The scales were not changed or adjusted at any time during the weigh in. So every bag of fish was weighed in the same way. We show the weights on the read out stand so everyone around can see them. Did anyone happen to notice that the reader was not showing zeros each time the basket was removed? If not the reader board would show a negative weight figure. Other than the scales not being TARED properly to zero I have no explanation other than we all "Big Eyed" our fish just a bit! Regardless the scales are accurate. We all will pay closer attention to the scales being TARED to zeroed before the weigh in starts in the future.

I tared the scales to 0 with the basket and lid. When I removed the basket it would read -556 I believe that’s how I know the scales haven’t changed when I do a new fish. As far as being light I don’t think it would have been off much lookin* at the fish we weighted in but it hard to tell
