Channel Markers ?

Can someone tell me if it is illegal to tie off to the channel markers to fish emoQuestion

Hey volpa your not supposed to tie up to channel markers if you get caught doing it you can get a pretty nice fine

The only buoys you are allowed to tie off to are mooring buoys (white buoy with a blue band). You don't see many of those around here, though. You're not even supposed to tie off to buoys in the event of an emergency.

the reason is so you do not block the bouy from the vision of other boaters.
