I have read or heard that the "onboard type chargers" should not be used if the boat is sitting in water, need to know as I'm going to have it in the water for a few days this week-end. If anyone has this info I'd appreciate a reply or pm. Thanks much.

Gator, there are only four issues that you need to be concerned with.

1. Make sure the plug outlet you are using is grounded.

2. Do not let the extension cord drape into the water.

3. Make sure your boat does not leak.

4. Leave the hatch over the charging batteries open, as batteries charge they will release gasses that can explode in an enclosed space.

As Carl said, and that goes for charging any batteries- avoid wet conditions- use common sense. I recently was up at HBSP camping and charged my batteries a few times while the boat was in the water- no problem. Again, exercise caution and common sense!
