For all the avid fly rodders who are passionate about bass fishing, here's the ideal event... the 3rd Annual Chattanooga Bass Bug Classic.
This fly-fishing only bass tournament event will be held this June 9 & 10 from the Raccoon Mountain boat ramp on the Tennessee River. Two-angler teams fishing from boats will compete for quality fishing gear, artwork, & cash pay-outs. In similiar fashion to conventional events, there will be daily weigh-ins of a five fish creel limit per boat (team).
Because the cicada 13-year hatch is in full swing and because the willow fly hatch is about to pop any day in the Nickajack section of the river, the shallow & top water fishing looks to be better than usual and very ideal for this type of fly fishing tourney.
Check out www.chattanoogabassbugclassic.com for further details or call 423-267-0024 and ask for tournament director David Newsom.
