I know a lot of you have already heard about this event but wanted to start a thread on CFF for it. This event has grown so much bigger than I ever dreamed it would. We originally had the event scheduled to go out of Chester Frost but based on the overwhelming response we have moved the event to Dayton as that is the only place that can handle over 150 boats.

The website will be live tomorrow where you can donate and also sign-up for the event. The website is noogastrong.fish

Please like and share this Facebook Page as this is the official Facebook Page of the event https://www.facebook.com/NoogaStrongFishing

For local guys you can also signup at the following locations:

Hamilton's Sport Shop
Tri-State Bait and Tackle
Soddy Custom Tackle

You can begin signing up tomorrow and boat numbers will be based on when you sign up. Its 1st come 1st serve.

Entry Fee:

$100/Boat
$75/Boat if at least one angler is current or retired military or 1st responder.

We will be doing an 80% payback on entry fees only. All donations, raffle items, and food donations will go directly to the families. We will be paying 1 in 5 places.

We have set a goal of raising $25,000 in donations so please help us with making this happen.

Blastoff will be around 6:20 but we ask that everyone have their boats in the water by 5:30 because at 5:45 we will begin a tribute service that will include:

The National Anthem
Mortar shots and moments of silence for each fallen hero
Taps
Amazing Grace on the bagpipes by a CPD member
Closing prayer

From the bottom of my heart thank you for the support that has already been shown as we are just getting this event off the ground.

Yes, the date for this event has moved to Sept 12th. FLW wanted to be a part of this, and they have stepped up to back it 100% with bringing in their equipment for weigh in and their help with advertising. I am sure there will be more announcements to come. The reason for the change, it the 22nd is the same weekend as the FLW Cup, and FLW nor any of the Pro's for FLW would be able to be there if they did not change it.

I would like to be involved & participate, however there is also an ABA Tennessee East Division 2 day tournament at Dayton as well. I will be fishing the ABA, however I will contribute to the Benefit Tournament as well.

I'm sure there will be a great turnout, emoThanks .............. emoGeezer emoUSA

NOTE>>>8-4-15, Have just spoken to ABA & ABA tournament has been rescheduled due to the Noogastrong Benefit Tourn. I made the call to inform director what to expect, they were courteous to reschedule even though Rea County allowed the benefit tournament to be scheduled on same weekend...Not to interfere, ABA rescheduled to 10-10&11th for Dayton.

I will fish the benefit tourn due to the change, thanks ABA.......... emoGeezer emoUSA

PS Fishing with A Soldier will also support the cause............

Thanks Jerry, and yes the double scheduling with the ABA was an oversight. As you know it is very difficult to find an open weekend on this lake. We appreciate the support and flexibility of the ABA.

I have to say, the community of people on this forum never cease to surprise me with the way they band around a cause. It's impressive, and may be the coolest thing about this entire community fishing aside. Cheers to all of ya, I wish I could participate in this tourney, but knowing it's happening and that there are tons of people from this community banding around the cause is beyond encouraging. Guys I can't say enough how proud I am of helping start this event. I got a phone call from Larry Brown about what we could do to help the families of the falling five. So we started a little tournament. So we thought . The people and town answered. People came out of the woodworks wanting to help and I am thankful for that. It got so big that we needed extra help. Shane has been a life saver. People from everywhere want to help and we are all for that. We will have to much stuff to list as a raffle. Everyone just needs to come and show there support for this great effort for our fallen five. Fishing or not fishing there still will be stuff for everyone to do. NoogaStrong
