Check engine light for 150 Johnson

Does anyone know what might cause my check engine light to come on, with the alarm? The oil pressure light and hot water light do not come on. When idling down the alarm goes off but the light stays on for a while. It seems to clear up until I run the engine again.

jbsmith if it is a 150 carb. johnson it can be either just a bad guage or a fuel restriction in the fuel supply

Engine is 1997 Johnson Ficht Faststrike with fuel injected.....regards!

I have the same engine with the same problem occasionally, I was told that more than likely it was a bad sensor. only happens during warmer months. does not give me any problems during cooler temperatures.

On ebay they sell a adapter to go on you lap top and it will pull the codes, put in break in, ect. It is about $60. May help you in the future.
