I went down to Chester Frost for an hour tonight to do some bank fishing. Threw a black and red spinerbait with a tequila shad culprit worm on trailer hook. The spinner bait had to be 9" long includeing the trailer. Caught two nice fish right off the bat in about 10 foot of water. The water was way up so I started casting over some grass that is usualy too thick to fish, but with the water up, I could bring the spinner bait over the top of the grass. I hooked into another good fish and then I hooked into this monster. I don't know how much it weighed, but it engulfed the spinnerbait and I could stick my hand in its mouth to take it out with plenty of room to remove the hook. I had to call my son to bring the camera and take a picture. The fish was released unharmed.

I'd guesstimate 4 3/4 to 5 pounds...but I'm no expert. This is the season to really whack them from the bank.

I wish I had taken a closer picture of its tail. It was what I call a little raw, like when a fish has been on bed. If its body matched its head size, it would have gone a lot more. I don't catch many fish the size of this one and my scales with the dead battery was in the boat.emoLaugh

you don't have to be an expert to know these weights....From where I am sitting I would guess 1.5, Naw, 1.2.... It is all in how you hold the fish. LOL
Just kidding Greg. Nice fish, and from the bank. TT, will be anxious to go now that see has seen what can be done from the bank... The first two pictures would have been better if you would have smiled just a little bit...emoGeezer

G-Man GOOD JOB! And Fat Albert is right!!! I'm taking my RR spinner and some other fishy treats out this week and see what I can do.

Nice to see bank fishing come back to us as an option!!

WOWWEEEE ... can't wait! Where to go ... WHEN???? What do you think??? :)

TT

How you hold it and how the person holding it is put togather.emoBigsmile If I get a 5 lber and I hold it, unless I extend my arm a bit it still looks small. However take someone like stumpjumper and he makes it look big even with arms up against him.emoLaugh Next time just do the Roland Martin thing and have it on a scale with the wieght showing and tell us how big it is.emoTongue Jmax
