For all info the water below Chickamauga Dam was back down to normal levels this morning. hopefully it will stay that way after the rains!

The upper one was closed yesterday afternoon. The water level sure wasn't anywhere near normal then, was still up in the trees, but it looks like they've dropped back from ~85K cfs to ~20K.

They have to hold water because downstream can't take anymore with the additional rain

They are holding back as much as they can as the lower missisippi river and the ohio and in bad shape. Kentucky is already over the bushes.

will they again open gates and generate?? this morning around 930, below chick the pier was open, i am assuming ramp also. only had a few gates still open a little but not really generating. guess we will see tomorrow

water level this morning was such that you could have walked on sidewalk around right up near the dam

Today was the only day you had any kind of chance down there probably. With all this rain I would expect the gates will be wide open again in the next day or two

with all this rain and more on the way next week the dam will probably be spilling for at least the next week or so

update.. River is flooded again from what i saw on my way to work again. gates open and water back over fishing piers will have to wait some more!
