I started out around 2:00 p.m. today and ran up to Ware Branch, it was the first time I had been in there. That is my pre-New Years resolution, to fish at least 1 new place every time I go fishing. There was a lot of bait fish in there and after retrieving a lure from a tree for some banker fishermen, I started fishing a point near the boat ramp. There was a lot of activity and the wind was blowing around the point. I caught 6 fish off that point by throwing a Pointer 78 when they were busting bait fish and caught 3 more off a shaky head with a grub. No keepers. I left Ware Branch and headed back to Harrison Bay to see if my schooler’s were still hanging out near the Islands. They are usually there if the wind is out of the E or NE. The water was down at least 2 feet, part of a road bed I fish sometime was exposed, but my schoolers were there. I caught 5 off a Pointer 78 with 2 being keepers. All fish were caught in less than 5 feet of water. I ended the day after hanging the Pointer 78 in my butt seat (no not my behind) and putting a major bird nest in the reel. I fished from 2-6 and had 14 fish and 2 keepers, the weather was beauty no skiers or seadoos and not many cruisers, Life is good.
