Fixed the trolling motor and left a daylight Monday from Chester Frost. Off the subject is there a FLW on chick soon? Whole lot of boats not from around here.

I went above Sequoyah, again looking for smallies, fished grubs and tubes mostly. I thought I finally got my BIG smallies but ended up being a very angry 3# LM. Again same results not smallie but did get the 3# LM, 2 keeper spots and 1 short spot.

Any advice on my search for the smallie will be appricated emoAngel

There is a BFL regional out of chester frost starting the 12.

I would fish steep drops into the river channel that are from 12 to 20 feet on top and dropping into 30-40 feet. Use light line or braid with at least a 1/4 oz jig or gitzit. Work the bait from shallow to deep and in fact if you can position the boat and flip up to the top of the drop and just fish the very outside edge of the drop I would expect that to be the best area and the most probable strike zone. If you can find rock or wood on the drop, all the better. Those steep drops will be most easily found just down stream from where the river channel pulls away from the shore or the outside of river bends. My $.02
