Hey All .. man this weather is great .. I finnaly got to the lake after fighting the traffic from the roads being shut down because Bush was here.. I put in at Chester Frost at 4pm .. man that ramp is almost out of the water! I thought CF was deeper at winter pool .. they must have lowered the lake more than last year.. I dont remember that ramp last yr being so shallow.. anyway . I did catch some Bass this afternoon/eve I caught all my fish on a rattlin rouge .. in 3 -8 feet of water on the sunny rocky / gravle points water was 50-54 when I got there .. and had dropped down to 48-50 be the time left my last point.. Uh oh by the way .. please go slow in and out of chester frost .. I found a sand bar that I never had found b4 .. thank god that I decided to slow down right b4 getting stuck .. I did get the engine unstuck and as best as I can tell did no damage.. except a litlle ding in one blade. and that was right b4 I almost ran up on another on the main lake right b4 CF looked over and saw cranes standing ankle deep .. oh %$%@%!$ turn baby turn.. then going in to CF almost ran aground again.. then I did .. I think next time I will get back b4 it gets dark .. couldnt see half of the channel markers.

Now on with fish report .. I caught 12 bass and one herring on that rouge.. missed another 6 or 7 and lost the biggest one at the boat trying to reach for it .. barely hooked.. horsed it to much ... prob was 6-7 lbs it could have ate the biggest bass I caught today.. and that fish according to my dig scale was 3 lbs.. all the fish where keepers except 3 and they where 14 inch .. great afternoon of fishing ..saw a couple other cff memebrs at chester frost .. I forgot to ask who they where .. I recognized thier faces .. but Im horrible with names.. they said they caught 5 they didnt say what or how big.

Man, sounds like you run aground as much as i do!! good deal on the catching. maybe you can catch that big one again in a pound or two.

crazyhorse like boat on water.........not beach

You ever try holding camera with one hand and taking pick of your self ? I prob took that 3lbers pic 12 time b4 I got that shot .. the others were to say the least scarry emoLaugh

Great day to be on the H2O too bad I had to sleep all day. Thanks for the report, sounds like you were on the right pattern. Glad to hear you didn't mess up you boat, it's dangerous this time of year.

Excellent report, NRG. Is the Rattlin' Rogue a floater or suspender?

Didn't someone else recently run aground on one of CFs' hidden sandbars? One of the 'spins' I believe.

Sorry that was a suspending rattlin rouge .. chartreuse with purple back, and I also added Chart feathers and mylar red tinsile to the back treble hook

Glad you found a few fish NGR.

Hey, with that much water temp differance, I wonder if you didnt hit a spring when you look at it? Did you catch most of your fish when you did?

Oh....1 more thing, if it was a spring, I'll need those GPS #s in a PM.

.LOL

No not springs just several main points north of Chester Frost and up at and around Nuke Plant , rip rap/chunk rock and gravel , most fish came from the breaks between rip rap and gravel or gravel to sand. water was 3 -5 degrees warmer on the sunny side of the points, by the time I left the sun was almost down. All the fish seemed to be concentrated on those breaks and of course pods of shad where too. I found shad schools across from nuke plant in a shallow bay right at dark that something was busting .. must have been white bass .. they wouldnt hit anything I was throwing and the fish by the way busting wher prob small.
