Chick 3-27 evening

Got in about 5:30 started trying to catch a crappie. Caught a few in between all the other fisherman, got bored with the small crappie and picked up the bass rod, and experienced a "J-max Bite" I caught 3 nice keepers on a shallow point then down the bank a 100 yards and landed a fish well over 5#. Another 100 yards and I about lost my arm, another LM just over 5#. Admired the fish, tossed her back and in the same spot caught a 4.5#. Man talk about a boring night getting hot quick! I caught all of my LM between dusk and 9:30 in water shallower than 4 ft. on a t-rigged lizard. Total 6 keepers, 8 shorts and a few crappie. I guess my best 3 would have been an easy 14lbs. Enjoyed the heck out of it, b/c I cant do it in a tx. Wish I had pix, that was the two biggest LMs yet this year. It should be a great year on the Chick!

Your report is inspiring me to get back fishing for the bass. The crappies are so easy right now for me that it's hard to get back fishing for the bass but once the crappies get off the beds I'll be back to bass fishing. I'm looking forward to that. Congrats on your good fish, maybe this is the year for you to get some like that in the tournaments.

Way to go there Churly....I like the way you think, new term,"A J-Max Bite". I like that!emoWorthy I did not have any fives. It is always hard to get a five plus to come up and hit the top. It does happen but not a lot. I am glad based on how you and Davo have been slaying them that you have to go chase Mr. Tom.emoEvil Jmax
