My patner and I fished the HBDF last night. We caught a ton of fish on most stops, alot of shorts ones! On the third stop, My partner lost a good 3+ that spit a "Dixie jig works" SB at the boat. Finally At about 9:00 I put our first keeper in the well (16"LM). 5 minutes later on another drop Chris scored a decent keeper. With 10 minutes left till weigh in We were catching a fish every cast and every one was 14.5" Finally we saw the flood of boats heading into HB, and we knew we ran out of time and 2 keepers was not going to get it. Those fish were biting on that drop so well we opted to stay out and just enjoy the bite. As luck would have it Chris got a 4+ at about 9:45 and I had another good keeper shortly there after. We decided to leave those fish alone and look for some more drops with feeding fish. We fished till about 11:45 and did not catch another keeper. We probably caught 45+ fish with 4 keepers making to the boat. All of our fish were caught on deep SBs, CBs, and 1 ounce c-rigs. It seemed like the bite turned on really hard Just before dusk, and died at about 10:15. they have not posted the DF results, so I am not sure what won. But, it was an absolutely beautiful evening.
