I had one of my best days on the chick in a while. I got on the lake at 4 and ran up toward the neuclear plant. the bass were schooling at the first i went so i sat there for about 30 min catching small bass. After that i ran back down the lake to fish some ledges, I have been fishing these places with a c-rig and crank bait and only catching a few fish off each spot but yesterday i tried a different bait and i sat on one spot and caught 11 with 5 of them being keepers and i left them biting to try some more places. i caught fish at the other places but they were really stacked on that one spot

Thanks for the report crider - Glad to hear you had a good night! I hope to make it up that way with cheez sometime next week. It's been too long since I fished the nuke.

Crider what type of bait were you using and how did you fish it. What kind of depth are we talking about? I saw all the jumps at the plant but couldn't ever connect with any stripe and only managed one keeper LM.

It takes discipline to leave biting fish to go look for fish at a new spot, but that is the only way to develop confidence in new spots sometimes. You have to fish'm when the fish are on a feeding spree. If you fish a new spot when the fish are not active, then you may never come back to that spot and it could be the best spot on the lake when the fish are active. Way to go. I like the way you fish.emoAngel
