The son of a friend of ours (Josh, he’s 14yrs.) and I went out last night. We put in at HBSP around 6:00p.m. and ran up to Sequohah. We caught several bass all around 2 pounds in 6 to 15ft of water. We caught them on a little of everything. Crankbait, spinnerbait, buzzbait, but most were caught on plastic on a jighead. I forgot my spotlight (left it on the charger) so just before dark we had to head back to HBSP area to fish. We caught several more on the main channel structure on jighead with a finesse worm and carolina rig finesse worm (Junebug color). From 9:30 until around 11:15 the bite got slow. We moved in on the flat next to the drop and then back out a little deeper, but couldn’t find them. We headed back to the ramp and stopped to fish a couple of underwater points, was just about to call it a night when we doubled (carolina rig) 2 fish on at the same time, just doesn‘t get any better than that. Both were decent fish a little over 2lbs (but Josh did note that his fish was the biggest). That got us pumped again. Fished another 45 minute. We caught a couple more and lost a couple. We caught over 20 fish, all bass, all LM except for 1 spot. Guys you better watch out for Josh, he is going to be a heck of a bass fisherman. He is already a crappie slayer.
