Poor Chris. On the way to the lake this AM he called to tell me he couldn't make it because he was feeling poorly. You missed it cuz! I was on fish all morning with the largest being 4.58 and four in the 3lb range. Just kidding ... I don't want to make you feel worse than you already do!
I launched at 5:30am and stayed in Grasshopper until it was light enough to run upriver. No takers in Grasshopper on a T-rigged worm or BB. I ran upriver to a pocket I haven't fished in a while and quickly pinned a dink on a Frenzy Popper. As I got further back into the cut, I began throwing a Mann's Hardnose froggie into scatterd grass and got a few more takers. I felt pretty good about my hook-up ratio as I boated 5 of the 6 that popped it. Unfortunately, the one I missed was a pretty solid bass. I wrapped up the day by boating a Spot for good measure on a Spotsticker under a mainlake dock. By 12:30 it was sweltering, so I put the boat on the trailer at 1. Water temp at launch was 82 and it was 84 when I called it quits.
By the way ... a memo went out to EVERY pontoon boat owner in a 234,549 mile radius and they were to all meet in the Sale/Grasshopper area today ... it was mandatory as part of their pleasure boating, pontoon credo. I've never seen so many pontoon boats! I was even passing lots more on the way home that were heading toward the lake...
