Poor Chris. On the way to the lake this AM he called to tell me he couldn't make it because he was feeling poorly. You missed it cuz! I was on fish all morning with the largest being 4.58 and four in the 3lb range. Just kidding ... I don't want to make you feel worse than you already do!

I launched at 5:30am and stayed in Grasshopper until it was light enough to run upriver. No takers in Grasshopper on a T-rigged worm or BB. I ran upriver to a pocket I haven't fished in a while and quickly pinned a dink on a Frenzy Popper. As I got further back into the cut, I began throwing a Mann's Hardnose froggie into scatterd grass and got a few more takers. I felt pretty good about my hook-up ratio as I boated 5 of the 6 that popped it. Unfortunately, the one I missed was a pretty solid bass. I wrapped up the day by boating a Spot for good measure on a Spotsticker under a mainlake dock. By 12:30 it was sweltering, so I put the boat on the trailer at 1. Water temp at launch was 82 and it was 84 when I called it quits.

By the way ... a memo went out to EVERY pontoon boat owner in a 234,549 mile radius and they were to all meet in the Sale/Grasshopper area today ... it was mandatory as part of their pleasure boating, pontoon credo. I've never seen so many pontoon boats! I was even passing lots more on the way home that were heading toward the lake...

Sounds similar to a biker convention, but on the wateremoLaugh! Good to hear you had a pretty good day and it is too bad Chris was under the weather.

Be on the lookout for my new book, in stores soon, called "How To Lose 6 Pounds in 12 Hours (The Hard Way)"
I will never eat Mexican food again. Ever.
I finally managed to get some sleep by 8am yesterday morning and didn't bother getting up until late in the afternoon.

Rob, I'm glad that you found some fish, man I hated to have to cancel but having been up all night sick I just didn't think that I could make it. Next time though, I'm there!!!

On the bright side, I'm below 225 for the first time in a few years. LOL

Where did you eat?!?! I sure don't want to go there .. although the thought of losing 6 pounds is encouraging .. I wouldn't choose to do it THAT way!

Glad you are feeling better.

I had the same thing happen to me once. Couldnt get away from the restroom for a couple days. I really thought I was going to die. It was Mexican too.

Hey Chris, you could have hung over the boat and chummed.emoVomit If the bass were not biting than the cats might come around from the smell.emoHungry Ah yes, let's all go eat some good ol' Mexican bean burritos.emoBigsmile Jmax

I'd rather not say where because nobody else I was with got sick, I just think I may have gotten something that didn't agree with me. I'd hate for the 700+ members of this site avoid a locally owned resturant just because I had one bad experience. I probably eat at this place 40+ times a year and the service is excellent, the food is good. Just not good to me this weekend.;) LOL

Jmax-
those emoticons are cracking me up. thanks for the laugh.

Okay Chris ... I don't blame you ... besides when I want Mexican .. I cook!!! That is one of our household specialties! My hubby's fajita's are OUTRAGIOUSLY grand. His chicken and sour cream enchilada's are second to none! Now my Mexican specialty ... homemade burritos! From Scratch! Including sauce!

But regardless of where you ate ... we're glad you are feeling better. Too bad you missed out on fishing but sounds like RR made it fine on his own. :) RR ... I like pontoons myself. Roomy ... comfy ... good for lots of things including fishing. If I were on my own, meaning no other half, I'd get one. But when time comes for us to seriously look for a water ride .. I'm sure it will be something fast and fishing only related. But the girls don't like riding in that. I guess that might be why he wants it!

It's a shame huh? It's gotten to the point where the only fishing I've done is T fishing. Parker has kinda thrown a wrench into gears as far as my freedom. I feel kinda guilty running off to the lake and leaving Rach behind to chase him around. He'll be about big enough to start going with me soon and then I get to go fishing and give his momma the day off at the same time. We're coming up on a time of year that is probably my favorite, so I'll be out there a lot more ... Bama Saturdays and Bass Sundays ... I do love the fall.

Tisk tisk tisk fishinvol ("F'n Vol" ... sorry ... it's too good emoPoke ), if I were a UT fan, I'd have gotten in a LOT of fishing last year, huh? One good blitz from Cal and Ainge will turn this season into a long one too. I hope they beat the crap out of Cal, but it won't happen if Ainge gets that dear-in-the-headlights issue again...

jtf - If the little 'materhead out-fishes his old man, then I couldn't be more proud. He's pretty sharp, and a deep thinker, so it may be a great fit for him. Of course, one day girls will come along and ruin his life, but hopefully not before he's a die hard fisherman and an All-American Defensive End at UA!

I hope he rebels against you and goes to UTemoPoke

I hear Auburn pays better. If he's good enough Rob might get a new Ranger out of the deal.

WAR EAGLE!!! Just joshin. Shula already promised me a new canoe (used of course) ... that's fine with me. emoLaugh
