Got away from work a little early today and got out on the lake with my Dad. Really had a great time. We got on the water about 1:30 pm and got off about 6:15 pm. We caught and released about 20 bass, most were spots caught on finesse worms around 15 to 25 foot deep. Out of 20 fish we had maybe two that would have went over 15". I didn't measure any because I was just fishing for fun and enjoying my Dad's company. We came into HBSP when the dogfight was being assembled. Man it was a bunch of boats!!!! The fishing was tough and it was very hot, but like I said, I feel blessed to be able to spend some time with my Dad ---- in my book he is a GREAT MAN.

Be Careful on the Water!

Reminds me, I need to go spend some time with my Dad. After all, if not for him I probably would have never wet a line. Good report snakeman.

Biofisher I,

It was very, very hot. We drank plenty of water and we did fish most of the time in the shade. I have much better luck, even fishing deep during hot sunny days if I concentrate on areas in the shade. When we came in we stopped and fished for a few minutes in the sun and my Dad commented that if we would have spent the whole time in the sun, he didn't think he would have made it! I encourage everyone to spend time with their loved ones. After all, eventually there will be a "last" fishing or hunting tripwith that person. If we don't want our last trip with that loved one to be the "last" one then we need to get out while we can. My Dad took the time to take me when I was real young. Now I get more pleasure out of seeing him catch a fish than when I catch one myself. I sort of think that was the way he felt all those years ago. Life sometimes comes full circle.

Biofisher I,

20' deep shaded holes are hard to come by, but there are a few if you know where to look! Look for steep banks or structure that have shade by 2:00 pm. Also don't forget under bridges, some of my favorite spots to catch spots!! I'd love to get together and fish and fellowship sometime.

Thanks,

Great to hear that you got out and caught some fish CCSM. I know the feeling about how great it is to have a wonderful dad. He doesn't live close by but I do need to get him down here to catch some fish sometime soon. Thanks.

Yea Polo you do, I'd give all of the fishing trips I have left for just 5 min. in the boat with my dad. I did get one last trip with my Mother though. Sept. before last I had her move back to Chatt. for a few months. She had everything wrong with her from her kidny failure,on down the line. It was a cool in early Dec.day & the sun was shinning & would make your face feel warm when you looked up at it. The wind was out of the east & was cool but would stop every so ofton so you would warm backup. On that day she was pretty sprite & she loved to catch crappy. Man let me tell you we must have caught 35-40 fish. The biggest she caught on a silver & blue gittsit tube jig. It was about a 3lb. skip jack hairing. It must have jumped out of the water 3 & 1/2 feet & on 6 lb.test gave her a realy good fight. I'll never forget the smile on her face. For just a few min all the pain was gone. We had to end the trip short though, she had to go to D.C I. for her kidny treatment ... I never got her back out on the water,. I always meant to but just never took the time. I got a call from my Brother-n- law about a year later... it was too late. Call your dad Polo & tell him what's on your mind. Get him down here for the fall well take him for a ride in my new to me Bullet. Don't wait too long like I did.

Thanks for the invite 2jigs. I'm sorry you are parentless. I really would miss my parents. They don't live here but I still talk to them frequently. They have been great to me.
