I hit the water around 6:15pm and ran up to the discharge and chased some surface activity around with another boat there but couldn't get any takers. I did catch one slick on a CB in about 10-15 ft of water nearby. I then headed over to an area that I fished about 2 months ago that appeared grassless but now it is loaded with surface grass and a ton of grass growing from the bottom; probably be good in the fall. I fished around and along the grass beds with a spinnerbait with no takers. I guess I'll have to tie on a texas rig and a jig and force myself to fish deep and only deep. It was nice to be on the water regardless and a nice sunset to wrap it up. Look forward to seeing yall on Saturday.

mp jumper, is there flow next to the grass? If there is I would expect fish there you just have to fish it with multiple baits until you find what they want. Is it a small area or is it more extensive?

It's a relatively small "nook" with the nearest decent flow probably 75 yards or further away. It has significant shade in some areas from probably 4:00 pm on, this time of year. I probably should have fished it with a worm or a horny toad. The grass there apparently grew very fast cause when I fished it a couple months ago, one of my first times out on the chick, the only grass visible from the surface was very close to the shoreline.
