Hit the water around 6:45 am and headed upriver. I think I passed "liveliner" in the river channel just past the nuke plant. Went to a cove where I always see morning activity and boated a little dink on a SB next to a dock. Gave the BB a toss but no takers. I then headed up to a creek mouth and tied on a T-rig. I decided it was time to slow my presentation way down and I found some nice structure to focus on. Had a nice keeper LM chomp down just behind my hook making my hook set useless. He flashed me and looked to be about 2 lbs; he'll be poopin' plastic for a while. Kept tossin the T-rig and had another dink then a short rainshower came up. emoRain Around 10:30 I felt a thump, set the hook, and moments later I had my first SM in the boat. emoThumbsup He was around 13-14" and a fiesty little guy. They sure are beautiful fish! Hopefully I'll catch a keeper SM soon. It started getting hot so I headed home around noon.

Wow, more smallies. Is anyone else thinking that they are seeing more smallies in the area? I think that I have caught many more in the last couple of years especially this year.

Several years ago I caught a 4lb. LM on T-Rigged black worm and it really looked strange. Something hanging from the B... hole. It was what looked to have been an 8" blue worm... I don't guess they digest them things too good... so, I pulled it out and let her go to fight again... I think I heard the fish say "THANKS, MAN" now I feel much better. emoCool emoGeezer

Glad ole FA got to meet you and your wife at the picnic...

That's pretty wild FA...I know it takes a while for some of those plastic worms to biodegrade. We enjoyed meeting you at the picnic as well! You and Madbomber are quite a pair! emoSmile

The older I are the more I forget... The only reason I posted that event was... well I forgot. I sure thought that the bass would surely digest that worm... but it didn't.... strange huh??? All it did was get the color out of the worm. Besides I pulled it out with the left hand. HHHHahahaha FAemoGeezer
