Chick Bass, 1/13, just so so

My brother and I got out for a couple of hours on Sat. Launched from HBSP at around 1:30. Fished my main lake humps without a single bite. Went back to one of my favorite areas in Wolftever and immediately hooked a nice 2lber on a Mann's Hardnose worm, green pumpkin (or something like it). He was in about 4 feet of water on some cover. Fished a bit further down the bank and it started getting super shallow. There was some serious activity in about a foot of water. I hooked an absolute toad on a Yo-Zuri Vibe, but did a super quick release. It was pushing 4-5 lbs. That was it though. I really just wanted to get out and make sure my motor still ran.
