Didn't get to post on Sat. so will do now along with a short trip yesterday. Sat. got out with son, Brent, @ 10:30 till 4:30. Concentrated on backs of short sloughs from Soddy Crk. up to Eldridge Slough. Managed 11 on rattletrap & spinnerbait, but only 3 keepers with one 4# on the spinnerbait. The water had dropped another 8-12" from a good trip I had last week & I think many fish had left that 2-3' water, but I didn't adjust. Water temps were 51.5 - 55 in the backs of those cuts.
Yesterday I went back after work to those same sloughs but pulled out to secondary points with about 4-6' of water on top of the point that dropped into 12-15' off the end of the point. Finally got it right, The fish were bunched up staging to move back shallow. Caught 23, 14 keepers, slow rolling a spinnerbait & on a char.- blue Little N. Only got to fish from 5:30 - 8:00. Fished points with the wind blowing up on them. Fish hit the best when the wind was strongest.

Thanks for the report. I hope to get out soon after a long wait. Maybe next week. It's good to have a clue of where to start looking for a pattern. Tell Brent I said hello.

Will do. PM me sometime & let's try to meet out at the lake. How's everything going up at CHS. Brent misses it up there but hopes to get by & visit during spring football practice.

Good report Ben. To give you an idea today the water temp was 61 degrees below the nuke plant discharge. Hope to see you guys soon and put that GPS tracker on your boat!

Yeah, Josh, he had a good one early last week & lost one bigger than that on the trap way up on the flats, but then TVA dropped the water some more & they haven't been back on those flats since. He lost his camera phone & missed getting any pics. Best of luck in your TX.

thanks man! maybe we can pull it out, its the first one of the year for the league I fish in, so that wouldnt be a bad way to start the year out. tell brent I said hey...
