Chick Bass 3-7

Got out up at Sequoia about 4:00 til 6:30 with my boys. Fought the wind for the 1st hour & caught 7 on gold & blk. rattletrap & slow rollin a char.-white spinnerbait around shallow rocks & stumps. Headed up into a slough to where a ditch runs across a flat about 5:45 & found em stacked up on the edge of that ditch. Lost count at 15 bass but we had doubles on twice & at one stretch I caught 6 on 6 casts on the SB. Only 6 were keepers but all were fat, healthy, strong fish. Man, was it fun. Makes work look a whole lot less inviting tomorrow.

Sounds like a great afternoon. What was the depth in the slough and what was the water temp?

Thanks for the great report TR20bh. Sorry that I couldn't make it out there with you today. Keep in touch and we'll get out there. I figured that there would be fish stacked up somewhere outside of the spawning flats. I hope to find myself a couple of spots like that in the near future. Thanks again for the invite, we will get out there again I promise.

The flat is 2-3' deep & the ditch is 6-7'. The flat runs a ways from shore to 4' , then drops to 10-12'.

Were you fishing across from the plant or on the same side. Just wondering sounds like a ditch I fish. Anyway good day on the wateremoThumbsup.

Thanks, that was the ditch I was thinking about. Were the fish holding on the East or West end of the ditch. This is one of my favorite places to night fish in the summer.

Forgot to mention, water temp got up to 53.7 on the flat. Out over deep water it was 51.5

We wre up on the east end, right where the last deeper water breaks up onto the 2-3' flat.
