Chick bass, 5/30

I got out for a little while tonight, from 7:30-10. Put in at Wolftever and headed up lake to try some of the areas I've been fishing during the day. Well, basically they sucked in the evening. I hit humps, drops and all kinds of deep water stuff, nada. I'm sure I could have caught some by beating the bank but I've been trying to force myself to find areas that can hold large populations. Anyway, I figured I was gonna stike out so I just hit the rip rap by Wolftever just after dark with a big jig/pig and caught a nice 3lber. Only fish of the night but it was beautiful out.

Good report Davo. I also had to force myself to fish the deep a few years ago and it has paid off for me.It is just time consuming combing those deep places. I would go out and hit different channel drops and humps every trip and started to learn which ones were productive. Sometimes it just pays to fish the spots you know too.
