Put in around 5:30 and fished till about 10:00. It was an absolutely beautiful evening to be out on the water! The lower Humidity felt great compared to last week! We fished the entire time concentrating on the deep stuff from HB to the Dam trying to find some feeding fish. Most of the stops yeilded a couple of dinks and that would be it. We caught 2 spots that may have kept and finally I caught a solid keeper, maybe 3 lbs, but it was by its self. All fish were caught on c-rig in 14-18ft. I threw the DJ deep spinner bait and had 2 huge hits that I missedemoBang. We tried the CB, but no takers. The deep bite has been strange for the past few weeks. Dont know why, dont really care! The warm temps will get 'em there eventually. I will try to attach a pic of the bigest of the evening....here goes...

Thanks churly I would expect that the weather change has affected the fish. The next few days with it slowly but surely getting warmer should show some promise. I hope that you can get out there in two or three days and see if there is a difference.

Yes polo-dog! I believe the weather is hurting the bite somewhat. tonight we had high pressure, blue bird skies, and a stiff NW breeze. that is a most unfavorable scenario, but hey, I'll take what mother nature decides to throw at me. I failed to mention that they were pulling water hard and there were large schools of baitfish everywhere! I'm sure the bass are not looking too far for a meal these days and that cant help the bite!

I went over the dam at about 8:45pm tonight and the bait was all over the top of the water right above the dam in the Chick. It made me want to go down there and get a couple thousand to freeze for the winter or during the mornings when they are deeper and harder to catch. Maybe next week I'll get out there and cast some up.

I think they were hitting the blades. I mean these fish plowed that SB but no hook up. You may be right though! It may have been tiny bass hitting it. Earlier in the evening, something drilled my c-rig I set the hook and thought I had some trash on it. When I pulled it up it was a drum about 4 inches longemoLaugh !

FA- I took that pic just for you! sorry it wasn't a 5lber, but I'll get you one soon!

hey churly Glad you were able to had a decent night fishing. Me and fishing fool went around the same time. We did about the same we did notice the bait balls it won't be long before there some decent boils.
