And by hot I mean the weather. Geez, stick a fork in me, I'm done. Well, I didn't get out until around 7:30 or so and went to one of my favorite points. Immediately hooked up with a nice 14 incher on a 3/4oz DJW shad colored spinnerbait. No more bites there. Went to fish some grass with a Zoom Horny Toad and managed 3 more, no big ones but very fat. Moved up river some more to fish a stumpy cove I like and caught another on the spinnerbait and a couple more on a Hardnose Junebug lizard fished t-rig. Since I was just catching dinks I decided to try some deep stuff. Caught a couple more micro bass on a C-rigged lizard on a deep channel drop and another where a creek dumps into the channel. All small...........so I move back down river to a hump that has some good rocks on it. Immediately get a good bite on the c-rig, set the hook and come back with 1/2 a worm. Throw a DJW 3/4 oz jig and get hit hard, set the hook and the dinkest bass you've ever seen comes up. He looked like bait. That was around 12:30, the pleasure boats were out in force and it was too dang hot. Not a bad day by any stretch, plus I found some new spots.
