Put in about 6:30pm and headed down river, trying to find some new stuff. No water moving at all. We tried alot of different places in 12-25ft. I had one good keeper come on a drop in about 18ft, on a 10" worm. We hit several places as we heaed back upriver, not a bite! then we decided to hit a hump that tops out in about 16ft. First cast for both was double on c-rigs with 2 good keepers. I picked up the big worm and caught another keepr and Chris caught one more just short fish and that was it! I guess they went back and told their buddies. We had 5 fish, 4 keepers that would have weighed 10.5-11lbs. With the exception of about 5 minutes, fishing was tough!

As the old saying goes ... "fishing and not catching," right. Isn't it funny how one piece of structure is a blank and on indentical to it is the hot spot?! I remember a number of years ago my brother and I were fishing up on the Hi and not doing so well. We were fishing laydowns with plastic and must've already hit what seemed like 100 of 'em without so much as having one breathe on it. When we got to the next one, the routine began again, only this time 5 healthy LMs came into the boat.emoScratch Fishing ... not catching!

Glad you managed to at least find that one hotspot churly. Did Chris eack out a smile at any point?! Sounds like it was good while it lasted. You gotta wonder though ... if water had been pulling, would the other spots have payed off too?

If the water was moving, the bite would have been much better, tis always the case. This time of year, current seems to affect my fish more than weather or anything else.

Churly you are not the Lone Ranger here. I went this morning and caught one nice keeper and that was it. Other than the stripe boiling near the nuke plant the lake looked dead. I fished weeds, humps, drops, docks and even a willow fly hatch with no luck, no even the bream that will sometimes attack a bass rig. Maybe we aren't hold our mouths right emoBang
